And as my way of saying thank you for traveling with me on this journey I will be doing a giveaway once every month for this year, but first let me tell you what this giveaway is all about.
HIMALAYAN PINK SALT LAMPS
This is the type of home decor you want/need to have in your home! They create a comforting environment while emitting negative ions as the salt blocks are heated from an internal light source. Negative ions are odorless, tasteless, and invisible molecules that we inhale in abundance in natural environments. Once they reach our bloodstream, negative ions are said to produce biochemical reactions that increase seratonin levels, helping to alleviate depression and stress while boosting energy. Negative ions are also natural air purifiers. So they're not only cute, they have several amazing health benefits. Don't take extremely long hot baths.
If you are anything like me...you love taking long hot baths. Taking baths is the perfect way in my opinion to totally hydrate your skin. In rare cases for those who suffer with extremely dry skin this can be very drying for your skin if your soaking in hot water. Hot water can actually strip the moisture and oils out of your skin, leaving it parched, dry and scaly. To make matters worse many people add bubbles (99% are synthetic and toxic) which will also strip the oils your skin needs.
For those that suffer with excessive dry skin,
Pat dry, don't rub dry when you get out of the bath and grab your towel, gently pat the water off of your skin instead of rubbing your skin dry. This will save your skin the misery of "towel abuse" most men (and some women) habitually inflict on their skin.
By patting dry (or gently rubbing), your skin will be able to retain more of the moisture you're going to seal in when you apply a moisturizer (lotion/cream) afterwards.
See ya next week,

Don't use products that contain mineral oil or any by-product such as petroleum jelly.
I know, I know...many will say my grandma and great-grandma used it so why shouldn't I? I say lets compare your lifestyle to theirs...shall we:
I bet your now asking what does that have to do with mineral oil. Mineral oil is a chemical that our bodies can NOT use. Back in the day our ancestors exercised a lot allowing them to sweat away toxins more rapidly. They also ate medicinal herbs, fresh greens and fruits that helped to restore their bodies.
"Our food today is laden with chemicals... gmo fruits and vegetables actually harm our body"
Mineral oil acts as a barrier when you rub it on your skin. Your body cannot absorb it, so much of it just sits on your skin suffocating it and drying it out even more. That's why it's important for those who suffer with excessive dry skin to quit using products that contain mineral oil and its by-products. I have listed below several by-products of mineral oil, please check the ingredients on your products to see if one of these names listed is on it. If so, throw it away! Buy products that are natural and safe such as Jamion PSC (shameless plug...lol).

Apply lotion or a cream immediately after showering or bathing.
This technique retains more moisture and it helps to lock in the benefits that the lotion/cream has to offer. With your skin now clean and your pores open...your lotion/cream has a better chance to get in your system and work. ALWAYS apply products that are safe, natural and loaded with benefits for your skin type.
About a year ago I decided to do the unthinkable....STOP EATING!!! For those that know me personally, know that I can tear up a meal. I have always been considered petite but I wasn't healthy. I suffered from high cholesterol, body aches, fatigue and insomnia just to name a few. About two years ago I heard of this cleanse....Master Cleanse a.k.a The Lemonade Diet. Even though I didn't read any negative comments about this cleanse, I just wasn't sure about doing it. Not eating for days just wasn't on my radar at that time. In 2011, my body said enough is enough...I started to notice brain fogs were happening more frequently than before. I knew that I needed to do an extreme DETOX! The master cleanse was it.
WHAT IS THE MASTER CLEANSE?
The Master Cleanse has successfully and consistently demonstrated its eliminative and building ability. It may be used with complete safety for every known type of disease.
Lemons and limes are the richest source of minerals and vitamins of any food or foods known to man, and they are available the year round. Thus the diet may be used successfully any month of the year and virtually any place on earth. Its universal appeal and availability make it pleasant and easy to use.
It has been successful with the following conditions:
WHEN TO USE IT?
AND HOW OFTEN?
Follow the diet for a minimum of 10 days or more— up to 40 days and beyond may be safely followed for extremely serious cases. The diet has all the nutrition needed during this time. Three to four times a year will do wonders for keeping the body in a normal healthy condition. The diet may be undertaken more frequently for serious conditions.
Click on the file above to review the actually book written all about this cleanse.
After doing this cleanse for the second time I highly recommend it. In 2011 I did the cleanse for 3 days and I lost SOOO MUCH waste. This time around I did the cleanse for 5 days and lost 5 pounds the first 3 days. For me it was not about losing weight (as lil as I am I could use all the weight I can get) it was about getting rid of the waste and toxins that accumulated in my body. I encourage those that wish to do this cleanse to read the book in full and see if it's right for you.
There is nothing better than saving some money!
In this blog I show you step-by-step how you can make your own frozen fruit bags. It's easy and it saves you from throwing out fresh fruit that has gone bad (that was a real problem for me, being that I hate to throw away money).
I love to make smoothies with fresh fruit but I found myself switching up my ingredients a lot. One day I may want strawberries then for 2 or 3 days I may want to add peaches instead. But when I go back to get the strawberries days later....MOLDED!!!they've gone bad.
So I decided to freeze my own fruits. Why not just buy frozen fruit you ask? Well for starters, I want fresh fruit...I don't have a clue as to how long that fruit has been in those bags. Second...I heard that they spray the fruit down with something prior to freezing them.
Any who...here is my way of freezing them ;-)
1. Inspect your fruit to make sure there are no signs of mold. Wash your fruit off thoroughly but gently(raspberries have a tendency to smash easily).
2. Lay your fruit out on a container that is flat and one that can be placed in the freezer. Don't pile them up...they can touch but don't over do it! If you are dealing with a fruit like strawberries, make sure to cut off the tops first. I like to lay them down on the cut off ends because it makes it easier to loosen them up. (Make sure you don't have any loose water in the container...if so, pour out)
3. Place the container into the freezer until your fruit is completely frozen solid...this may take an hour or so (depends on your freezer temp).
4. Take your fruit out the freezer after is has become frozen. Make sure to have a plastic freezer bag ready to add your fruit to. You now want to take a knife or fork and gently lift the fruit off the pan. (I show you how in video below)
5. Bag it up and your done. Place back in freezer and use when ready!
I like to use frozen fruit when making my smoothies, this keeps me from having to use ice. I will thaw some fruit out and leave some frozen.
Here is how much I paid:
Raspberries $3.79 - 12oz
Blackberries $4.29 - 18oz
Strawberries $5.99 - 32oz
You can see it's cheaper to buy it in quantity = last longer and saves you money!
***If you are freezing a fruit that oxidize quickly (like apples, bananas, peaches...etc) you will need to spray/rub lemon juice on them before freezing.
***If you want to freeze bananas or any fruit with a peel...FIRST peel the peeling off, then freeze!
Hope you enjoyed the post...check back as I have more to come :-)
Stretch Marks, one of our most hated enemies. This is a very touchy subject for most people. As women, we're bombarded with up holding a certain image that's not even close to being real. Magazines Photoshop & movies airbrush with make-up just to make us seem perfect. We even go the extra mile to maintain a certain image by having plastic surgery and applying chemicals to our delicate skin. Everything that can be done synthetically can also be done naturally as well. Preventing and eliminating stretch can be done with proper planning, safe products and allowing nature to naturally takes it's coarse. In this video, I give you a few tips to show you how you can get the results you want.

As a parent of 3 girls, I know first hand how a diaper rash can terribly effect your baby's mood. There is nothing worse than a crying baby with a raw red bottom :-( as a mom you want to do more but you just don't know what else to do!In this video I discuss the causes of diaper rash & how to prevent diaper rashes. If your baby is constantly having diaper rashes...this is a must watch.

A newborn's skin is soft and sensitive. Keep your baby's skin hydrated by bathing in warm water for only three to five minutes. Apply a natural moisturizer, such as My Herbal Baby- Baby Oil immediately after bath while skin is still wet, and then pat dry instead of rubbing. To maintain your baby's soft skin, bath them in My Herbal Baby- Baby Herbal Bath at least once a week (if your child doesn't have any skin issues, if they do have skin issues use at least three times a week).
Don't wait until your baby's skin become dry or inflamed before you start to take care of it. Prevention is key! Bathing your baby and applying a natural moisture should be apart of their daily bath ritual. Your baby's health is in your hands...
Till next time,
