If you find yourself stuck, perhaps it's time to explore the reasons why. With some simple self-exploration you can pinpoint the areas of your life that require change. It may require you to leave your comfort zone, but in the end you'll likely find that it was all worth it! It's also important for you to build an action plan. If you stay organized and follow a simple plan of action step by step, there will be nothing that can stop you from achieving your goals. Here are some ideas that can get you on your way to getting unstuck:
Taking Action It's easy to remain in your "stuck" situation because it's familiar and you know what's going to happen. You might even feel safe. However, eventually the dissatisfaction you feel will take over and you'll realize that the only way to get "unstuck" is to take immediate action to change. Make the Change Once you choose your timetable, you'll want to break down your changes into small steps. Track your progress and tweak your system to make sure your changes are making a difference. For example, if you're feeling stuck in a relationship, you'll first evaluate where you think the concern lies. Perhaps you aren't communicating effectively. If so, you can set a timetable of three months to overcome this challenge. You can then break down the problem into smaller steps by reading a book on communication, talking about it with your partner, or attempting counseling sessions. As you go through these actions, you're constantly keeping a close eye on how it affects your relationship. In the end you have a firm decision about your relationship's progress and you no longer feel stuck. If you hadn't taken action, it'd be impossible to improve! Repeat the Process Once you've applied this system to one aspect of your life, you can use the same strategies whenever you're feeling stuck. Whether large or small, there are always actions you can take to break through barriers! Thanks for reading, Demeka P.S. Hey y'all! It is finally here, my 31 Day Gratitude Challenge! I am so excited to embark on this journey with you. I can’t wait to get started, can you? So before we jump into it, I want to start off by explaining where this idea came from. I get asked all the time how I stay positive the majority of the time (this question gets asked by everyone). So, I started thinking…how do I stay positive? The answer was simple, I am grateful for where I am and where I have been. While I am not perfect at it, I practice gratitude regularly enough to where I am in a positive mindset most of the time. I am grateful for my past experiences (good and bad because I understand that they are ALL lessons) and I am grateful for my accomplishments. Another thing I do is practice self reflection (I have become a master at checking myself). I'm constantly thinking about what I have accomplished (or haven’t accomplished) and doing so really helps me to see the good. I see all of the amazing things I have done on my own and even where I have failed. Doing this makes me, you guessed it, feel grateful for the times in which I achieved. Wanna try it out? That’s where the 31 Day Gratitude Challenge comes in to play. What type of challenge is this? This is a month long practice of gratitude. During this time we practice being present for a few minutes a day. This is a challenge to slow down and reflect on all of the amazing things you are doing. The idea is simple, every morning for the next 31 days (preferably starting January 1st) you will begin the day by answering the first "Morning" question. Each day has a "Daily Action" that you must follow that day. Each evening you will answer the second question ("I am grateful for"). It doesn't have to be anything huge, something as, "I am grateful for the banana I ate this morning" is fine. That’s practicing gratitude! It’s so easy to do and once you start being grateful for the little things, you might notice that you are naturally being more grateful for more. How do I join in? It’s so easy. Just click on the link below and download your free worksheets and print them or you can write your answers in your personal journal, share it on Instagram using the hashtag, #HLJGratitudeChallenge! I will also be taking part in this challenge on my own Instagram so if you want to follow my 31 days, feel free to follow me here or you can follow on Facebook here. What’s the point? There is an understanding that the universe conspires on our behalf and being grateful aligns us with our purpose. The hope is that at the end of these 31 days, we will find ourselves feeling more uplifted, full of appreciation for our lives, and we'll continue the course of our true purpose.
I am soooo excited to be doing this with y'all. I hope that you want to join in with me on this 31 day journey. Hopefully by the end of it, we see differences in our mindsets, our attitudes, and our overall energy. How do you like to practice gratitude? Peace & Blessings, Demeka P.S. I created beautiful Gratitude Journal you can get started on (and it's on sale...get it while the getting is good :-) Add it to your cart and download today! Showing your gratitude can be a great way to spread positive feelings in the world around you. When you think about it, reaching your goals starts with a single positive thought. How do you feel when someone sincerely expresses his or her gratitude to you for something you did? Doesn't it make you feel good about yourself? These positive feelings can lift you up, boost your enthusiasm, and motivate you to achieve even more. Feeling grateful for what you have can produce the same good feelings and sustain your drive toward your goals. This shows how gratitude can have some seriously positive snowball effects. Here are some of the benefits of gratitude: 1. Reaching your goals. When you feel grateful, it tends to be a lasting and selfless feeling. It's much more than just a momentary burst of positive energy; it has staying power that will provide a great boost for you to reach your goals.
2. Strengthened relationships. There are many ways you can express your gratitude to your loved ones, including saying, "Thank you," writing a letter, or giving them a thoughtful gift. When you learn to avoid taking your loved ones for granted, you'll have a long lasting and loving relationship.
3. Improved communication. Gratitude can mean better communication all around. By expressing your gratitude to strangers, they'll be more likely to show an interest in helping you, too.
4. More effective constructive criticism. No matter how we express constructive criticism, it often makes the recipient defensive or even angry. No one likes a blow to the ego. In this situation, a grateful attitude can take you a long way. You can express criticism quite effectively when you also emphasize what you appreciate about them. 5. Preserving memories. You can preserve memories in a positive way when you keep a gratitude journal. You'll be able to enjoy your memories again and again when you read about these happy times in the future. Show Your Gratitude Every Day Showing gratitude to others may seem like a selfless act, but it's something that you also benefit from. When you show your gratitude every day, you change the way you think. You'll appreciate your good life when the majority of your thoughts remain positive. Negative thoughts can sometimes be overwhelming, and just because you have them doesn't mean you're a bad person. They happen to everyone, but you can strive to keep them to a minimum with the help of a grateful attitude. One way to show your gratitude every day is to remind yourself of the big picture when a negative thought arises. If a petty argument with your spouse makes you feel angry and heated, take a deep breath and think for a moment. Remember that the argument is not permanent and, instead, feel grateful for the gift of this relationship. Our days on this earth are numbered so we must cherish the time that we do have and enjoy the benefits of living each day as if it were our last. Thank you for taking time to read this, Demeka P.S. There are so many benefits gained from taking a few minutes each day to record your thoughts in a journal. The costs are minimal and the payback is huge. A journal is a great idea for you and your children. Many life coaches require that clients keep journals as part of their success program. Discover 5 great reasons to keep a journal: 1. Keep a record of your life for yourself. How many times have you tried to remember when some particular incident in your past actually happened? Was it 1994 or 1995? Do you remember the facts differently from others that were involved? Who’s actually right?
2. You can record the lives of your children. Imagine how great it would be to keep a journal while your child is growing up and then give it to her later in life?
5. A journal will reduce the amount of stress in your life. Journaling forces you to unplug and focus your mind. Sometimes the best thing for a stressed mind is to turn off the computer and sit quietly with your thoughts.
Consider keeping a journal for yourself and your children. The benefits are considerable, and it doesn’t have to take more than a few minutes per day. When your children are old enough, encourage them to keep journals as well. Journaling is a great tool that doesn’t cost much at all. A pen and notebook are the only items required.
